Advice for Wedding Planning during COVID-19

Wedding Planning can already be a stressful time in your life, and doesn’t need the extra pressure that Covid-19 added. Here is some sage advice from some of the best in the business:

A tactic that we are using with many of our Wedicity clients is to pick a “decision day” - this might be about 10 weeks prior to your event. On that day you’ll review the current climate of the pandemic, what your local government authorities are directing you to do, and check in with yourselves to see what your level of comfort is to still host your wedding on your original date. If on that date, you don’t feel comfortable, trust your gut and begin working with your vendors to postpone. However, if on that day things are looking better and you are feeling much more confident about the outlook of post-pandemic events - then continue through the planning process as such. In the meantime, use this time to still do some of the fun pieces of the planning process. Work on your first dance in your living room, listen to hours of music before deciding the perfect reception entrance song, or concentrate on writing your vows! Have a little fun with it and also know that it is okay to have a range of emotions - to be worried, or mad, or grateful for health, or even if you don’t know what to feel. I know many of our clients are also riding the roller coaster of emotions, and that is totally okay. Give yourself some grace and try to do some of the little fun wedding planning elements and most of all, stay safe by staying healthy! Cheers!
